How Hormones Affect a Woman

These two seem to always be connected to each other. As a result of hormones a woman can experience all sorts of issues, ranging from acne breakouts, body aches, mood swings, weight problems, depression, anxiety etc., all of these issues can usually be blamed on hormones in most cases.

It seems that hormones greatly affect women. But what exactly are hormones and why do they have such great influence on a woman’s body?

Hormones are chemicals released by the glands in the body. Hormones are responsible for regulating the functions of organs and other body structures.

They are the ones responsible for the communication between each body parts. There are actually a lot of hormones in the body, each with a corresponding function. But in women, the most dominant hormones are estrogen and progesterone.

The Role Of Estrogen
Estrogen is considered as the primary female hormone. Estrogen plays a major role in the development of a women and Estrogen is also responsible for the thickening of the endometrium, the lining of the uterus.

Estrogen is also important in bone synthesis and is known to protect the cardiovascular system. In women, estrogen is known play an important role also in their mental health.

A sudden change in the levels of estrogen can lead to changes in the moods of women, along with other symptoms such as mentioned above.

Women may have imbalances in either Estrogen or Progesterone (including other hormone imbalances), however the only way to know which hormone is affecting you would be to perform proper hormone testing

As women age they will continue to experience further hormonal symptoms, including menopause (many women experience early or perimenopause).

Some women continue through life without too many hormonal problems, but for other women they do have a major impact on a womens health and a womens lifestyle.
