Why? Perhaps, because we have an imbalanced metabolism; or we over-indulge in fatty foods; or we have gained weight through age or pregnancy; are at risk of serious health issues; or simply don’t like our body image. These and more are some of the factors that have put a fitness program and weight loss to the top of people’s agendas and, even, obsession. Undertaking a balanced fitness program will certainly help reduce the risk of diabetes and cardiac and hypertension problems. The key for finding a good womens fitness program is in its balance. Balance meaning that it is not an obsession, but works in conjunction with all the demands on your time - family, work, diet and nutrition and so on. Fitness programs need to be sensible - so NOT getting into the latest fad diet is a necessity. There are effective diets that are natural and fit in with good nutrition planning. A good fitness program takes into account age as well as lifestyle. Additionally, programs that focus on getting fitter will be ones that can demonstrably boost your immune system, so that your body can work optimally and keep weight in control naturally, as well as assist illness resistance (e.g. colds. flu) Look at your motivation behind the desire to lose weight. • Is health the first reason? • Want to look better – fine – but is it mainly an issue of self esteem or poor self image? If so then that perhaps needs to be tackled before losing weight. • Is your daily food intake balanced – two fruits and five veg? • Have you reduced or cut out weight inducing eating habits (candy, pop etc) • Want more energy – great idea – but that can come from a balanced diet, improved sleep patterns and managing stress.
